Kicking off Summer in Iowa City with the Friday Night Concert Series

Today is the day the Summer of the Arts season kicks off in Iowa City. This is the best time of the year in Iowa City when it comes to entertainment with events and things to do in downtown Iowa City all summer long.

The Friday Night Concert Series starts tonight with a performance by Grammy award winning artist Terrance Simien & the Zydeco Experience.

Where? Outside the Sheraton Hotel at the Weatherdance Fountain

When? Friday May 17, 2013 – 6.30pm – 9.30pm

Summer of the Arts Iowa City - Friday Night Concert Series

Bring your lawn chair and get ready to enjoy the first event of the summer in downtown Iowa City!

The Friday night concert Series will run from May 17 to September 27 this year with different kinds of music every week. The location is always the same – The Weatherdance Fountain, outside the Sheraton Hotel. Except when it rains, when the event gets moved to the Chauncey Swan Parking Ramp on the corner of Washington and Gilbert Street.

Two Easter Egg Hunts in Coralville March 30, 2013 – Schedule

Easter Weekend is ahead and I have two Easter Egg Hunts in Coralville to share with you.Easter Egg Hunts in Coralville 2013 The first one is hosted by the Community of Christ at North Ridge Park in Coralville. At the same time Iowa Realty is hosting it’s 3rd annual Easter Egg Hunt at ST Morrison Park.

Both Easter Egg Hunts start at 10.00 am and I’m sure the candy will run out fast so attending both won’t be an option!

Easter Egg Hunt – March 30, 2013. Organized by Community of Christ

When: Saturday March 30, 2013 10.00am

Where: North Ridge Park, North of I-80, off Holiday Rd, Coralville

3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt – March 30, 2013. Organized by Iowa Realty and Sponsored by Local Companies

When:Saturday March 30, 2013 10.00am – For Children 8 years old and younger

Where: ST. Morrison Park, 1513 7th St, Coralville (At the north end of the Rec Center).
