We have a couple of big Art & Crafts Shows coming up in Iowa City and Coralville soon. I’ve never been a big fan of Fall, or Autumn as we Brits call it. That was before I moved to Iowa.
When I lived in Europe it was the time that was wettest and most depressing time of the year. Not so in Iowa. There’s lots of sunshine in the Fall in Iowa and temps in the 60′s and 70′s, sometimes even higher. It’s turning out to be my favorite time of the year here. Apart from the weather, another thing Fall has got going for it are the many Fall Festivals, including Arts & Crafts Shows. The two big ones close to where I live are the Fall Art & Crafts Show at the Marriott in Coralville and the Holiday Thieves Market at the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU), in Iowa City. Be sure to mark your calendar. The way time flies these events will be upon us before you know it and you don’t want to miss your chance of finding a totally unique gift for the Holidays!

One of my must-do art fairs is the East Side Artists. From their Facebook page: “A long-standing Iowa City tradition! The Iowa City East Side Artists is a collective of over 20 artists from the Iowa City area who come together each year for an annual holiday show and sale.” The show this year will be held December 9, 10, & 11 (2011) in the Masonic Building at 312 College St. in Iowa City.
Thanks for sharing this with us Marilyn. I’m sure Crafts fans will add this show by the East Side Artists to their list too. Obviously I went over to Facebook to check them out right away and thought it might be helpful to include the link to that.
