Time just whizzes by in the summer time in Iowa City there are so many great things to do. This weekend it’s the Iowa City Jazz Festival.
The festival takes place downtown on and around the University of Iowa Pentacrest with the Old Capitol as a back drop. Right in front of the Old Cap is where the main stage is. The College and Local Stages are set up on Clinton Street. The Youth Stage is on Iowa Ave near the Dubuque Street intersection. It’s going to be VERY hot this weekend, how lucky that there will be lots of refreshments to be found on Culinary Row and in the Beverage Garden!
The Iowa City Jazz Festival is part of the Summer of the Arts Program. This is Free, Family Fun at its best and is a huge success every year thanks to the organizers and great sponsors who support this community event. You’ll find more details about the talented musicians and a map of the festival layout when you follow the links to Summer of the Arts website. You’ll also find info about the organizers and those great sponsors I mentioned.
