It’s almost the weekend again and time to update you on what’s going on downtown as part of the Summer of the Arts program. The Funkdaddies are up on Friday for the Friday Night Concert Series. On Saturday the Porch Builders take the stage for the Saturday Night Concert Series and last, but definitely not least, The Sting is the movie scheduled for the Free Movie Series on Saturday. (Paul Newman and Robert Redford made a couple of great movies together and this is a classic).
Where and When? Schedule for this weekends Summer of the Arts Program
Friday June 15 is when the Funkdaddies take to the stage. The show starts outside the Sheraton at the Weather Dance Fountain at 6.30pm and ends at 9.30pm.
Saturday June 16 The Porch Builders play country and blues with a punk rock attitude. Sounds interesting, don’t you think? Definitely worth checking out. The show starts outside the Sheraton at the Weather Dance Fountain at 6.30pm and ends at 9.00pm.
Saturday June 16 is when you can catch The Sting as part of the Free Movie Series at the UI Pentacrest. It’s going to be hot (again) this weekend folks, so pick a spot outside Macbride Hall under one of the trees offering shade there and enjoy! Movies start at sundown, so figure on anywhere from 8:20 – 9 p.m.
